4th Annual Las Vegas Extravaganza
UTPA’s Sam Williams Basketball Endowment Nears Finish Line
The UTPA Alumni Association and UTPA Athletic Department is seeking $45,000 to reach full funding for a basketball scholarship in the name of 1964 award winning basketball coach Sam Williams.
“Thanks to the support of members of the community purchasing the “Las Vegas Extravaganza” raffle tickets, they have contributed to the endowments current value of $220,000. ” said Jim Board, former 1964 Bronc basketball player and Jefferson Pilot Financial representative.
“The odds are better than ever,” said Board. Only 300 tickets will be sold at a cost of $500.00 dollars each, however any donation would help the endowment reach its goal. The grand prize includes a private charter jet service for eight, four penthouse suites at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, limo service to and from the hotel, dinner at the Bellagio, 8 tickets to the “O” Cirque du Soleil show and one spa treatment at the Spa Bellagio. Special thanks to Texas State Bank, Lone Star National Bank, Border Capital Bank, McCreery Aviation Company, LFD Home Furnishings, Office Furniture USA, Montalvo Jewelers, Deustch & Deustch Fine Jewelry & Watches, Budweiser, Bert Ogden Motors and Dillard’s Salon & Spa.
