Chapter History

With over 1,200 in Houston alone, we are proud to announce the creation of our first UT-Pan Am Regional Alumni Association in Houston. The Houston club first met on April 10, 2002 at Atchafalaya's River Café in Houston. We were very happy with the turnout and a great time was had by all!

The Houston Chapter held its annual meeting on Thursday, August 10, 2006 to select new board of trustee members. The meeting was held at the Heights Library in Houston.

Selected as new Executive board of trustee members were: David Garza (BA '70), President; Santana Gonzalez (BA ’75), Vice-president/Treasurer; and Cris Garza (BA '69) Secretary. Leon Jordan (BBA '67) will serve as Past President.

A new slate of UTPA Houston Chapter Board members are being solicited to serve for this coming year. If you are interested in being considered please email David Garza at crisda@aol.com or call 281-464-9710.

The Houston Alumni Chapter is still looking for people to serve on the chapter committees, and all Houston alumni are invited to get involved.

Current committees include: Social/Events Committee; Mentorship/Recruitment Committee; Marketing/Membership Committee; and Executive Committee
