With
over 1,200 in Houston alone, we are proud to
announce the creation of our first UT-Pan Am
Regional Alumni Association in Houston. The Houston
club first met on April 10, 2002 at Atchafalaya's
River Café in Houston. We were very happy with the
turnout and a great time was had by all!
The Houston Chapter held its annual meeting on
Thursday, August 10, 2006 to select new board of
trustee members. The meeting was held at the Heights
Library in Houston.
Selected as new Executive board of trustee members
were: David Garza (BA '70), President; Santana
Gonzalez (BA ’75), Vice-president/Treasurer; and
Cris Garza (BA '69) Secretary. Leon Jordan (BBA '67)
will serve as Past President.
A new slate of UTPA Houston Chapter Board members
are being solicited to serve for this coming year.

The Houston Alumni Chapter is still looking for
people to serve on the chapter committees, and all
Houston alumni are invited to get involved.

4th Annual UTPA Nite @ the Astro's
Please make plans to attend the 4th Annual UTPA Nite @ the Astro's on August 16th, 2008 when the Astro's will take on the Arizona Diamond Backs. There are 55 field box tickets remaining @ $22 each so make plans to join us. All tickets will have to be paid in advance. 4th Annual Casino trip to Coushatta
There are also seats available for the 4th Annual Casino trip to Coushatta on October 18th, 2008. There will be a small fee for the Casino bus so seat prices have increased from $10 to $15. This will include snacks and a free drawing ticket for several prizes. At least 40 passengers need to sign up. The bus will leave from Houston on October 18th, 2008 at 10 am from First Class Tours, arrive at 1:00 pm, return at 5:00 pm and be back at Terminal by 8:00 pm. Bring your family and friends.
